Green Campus

08.01.2026

A week ago, Green Campus was officially launched - an educational project aimed at the whole academic community and visitors, designed to highlight the diversity and practical importance of ornamental plants that are becoming ever more common in our everyday surroundings.

Thanks to the project’s authors- students from the Biology Students’ Scientific Society - plants lovingly cultivated and cared for by our administrative, technical, and academic staff have revealed their names, family affiliations, origins, specific requirements, and properties.

Specially prepared labels now make it possible to learn about each species independently anywhere in the building, and in the future this knowledge will be expanded with additional information published on a dedicated Green Campus website.

During the project’s opening, visitors were guided through the Green Campus by Edmund Baran, Chair of the Botanical Section of the Biology Students’ Scientific Society, who enthusiastically shared fascinating facts about the plants. This form of educational tour is also one of the student-led activities available within the project, particularly during the many events organized at our Faculty.

The student project is supported by:

  • The Botanical Garden of the University of Warsaw

  • The Dean of the Faculty of Biology

  • The Department of Plant Biology and Ecology

  • The Animal Facility
