Laboratory of Molecular Biology

Our offer

We perform molecular analyses as freelance work for other Polish research units, non-governmental organizations, police, and the courts or in a scientific collaboration. Our areas of work include, but are not limited to:

• animal and plant species identification using DNA sequencing
• genetic identification of an individual
• sex identification of an individual
• estimation of genetic relatedness between individuals
• analysis of genetic mating system and population social structure
• assessing genetic differences among populations, level of gene flow and identification of migrants
• identification of evolutionary lineages within taxonomic units
• detection of cross-species hybrids and assessment of gene introgression

The Laboratory of Molecular Biology carries out research focused on different fields of molecular biology: population genetics, phylogeography, phylogenetics, evolutionary and behavioural ecology, and molecular taxonomy. All academic staff and PhD students of the Faculty of Biology and Chemistry can undertake their scientific projects related to molecular biology in the Laboratory. We also welcome their co-workers from Poland and abroad.
